LOCAL BLACKSMITHS:

J.M. Perry made the first blacksmith shop in our area in 1850. He started the shop in the area of Rockville where the path from Benicia to Sacramento crossed the path that went from Green Valley to Suisun Valley. Other blacksmiths also set up blacksmith shops at other crossroads. They picked crossroads because that is where two or more roads crossed each other and lots of people passed.

This is Rob, the blacksmith. He is by the forge where the iron is heating up.
